Summer bucket list - Make Jam

So I have ticked off one of my "to-do's" on my summer bucket list .

The jam I made was old fashioned raspberry jam, using this recipe. Every summer my Nan would make raspberry jam, using berries grown in her garden. My Nan passed away nearly 3 years ago, and I miss her and her homemade jam, so I made this jam in memory of my lovely lovely Nan, and I hope that she would be proud!

Here are some photos of the jam process and the finished product...

the ingredients (and some homegrown spinach not included in the jam of course!)

  mashing the raspberries

stirring in the sugar to make a syrup like mixture

jarring the jam

the finished product - label from Frankie Magazine

all the jars of jam

ready to eat!

I used fresh raspberries bought from the local farmers market and caster sugar.

10 things to do this week

by Amanda Thomas of Here Comes The Sun
(check out her blog it's completely lovely!)

This is my "to do list" for this week!

1. Treat yourself to breakfast in bed
2. Pick fresh flowers and put them in jars and vases around the house
3. Write a note to someone special
4. Get into bed before 9pm and read for hours instead of spending your evening on the computer or in front of the tv
5. Bake treats and take them to work to share with your co-workers
6. Get up a little earlier and watch the sunrise with your breakfast
7. Try a new recipe for dinner instead of eating out
8. Smile at a stranger. You might just make their day
9. Watch a french film
10. Rearrange your bedroom
